Awami Welfare Society is a Swat-based not-for-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2002 and registered under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961. The organization is striving for socio-economic and political empowerment of women, elimination of violence against women, human rights, and welfare of persons with disabilities and improved health and educational facilities in the area. Furthermore, the organization runs social awareness campaigns on hygienic practices and also provides free legal aid to needy individuals with a special focus on women.
