Baanhn Beli

Baanhn Beli has 28 years experience of public service as a volunteer-led body that maintains a unique bridge of friendship and co-operation between urban Sindh and remote villages of the Districts Tharparkar Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Rural Karachi The organization works on the basis of service to humanity above all consideration of race, religion gender or language.

Among the organizations that have partnered, and continue to partner, our efforts are Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) The Asia Foundation (TAF) British council  ,Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) UNWOMEN and who were supported in past decade UNICEF, The World Food Programme (WFP)), Canadian International Development Agency, (CIDA) and the UNDP,DFID, Directorate Literacy and Non-Formal Education, Department of Education, Government of Sindh.

Amongst the various dignitaries who have visited the region to see our work at first hand have been the President of Pakistan (1994), several Governors of Sindh, Chief Ministers, Federal Ministers and Provincial Ministers, (former) High Commissioner of Canada in Pakistan (2001), Country Representatives of WFP, and FES Pakistan.

In recognition of its work Baanhn Beli was selected as one of the 50 such organizations from thousands of others around the world by the “Friend of United Nation” in 1995 when it was given a special award on the UN’s 50th anniversary for “Creating Common Unity.”
