Balochistan Assembly Continues Debate on Law and Order

ISLAMABAD, December 8, 2014: Starting 55 minutes behind the schedule, the third sitting of the Balochistan Assembly’s 15th session witnessed a continuation of debate on a motion regarding deteriorating law and order in the province, says Free and Fair Election Network in its daily factsheet.

Three members – one each belonging to PkMAP, JUI-F and NP – debated the motion for 31 minutes.

Thirty-two members (49% of the membership) were present at the start and 35 (54%) at the end of the sitting. A maximum of 36 members were seen at one point of the sitting.

The Speaker presided over the entire proceedings while the Chief Minister and the Opposition Leader also attended the entire sitting. The parliamentary leaders of PML-N, NP, ANP, JUI-F, PkMAP and PML were also present.
