ISLAMABAD, August 29, 2013: The Senate continued to debate the presidential address to the parliament on Thursday during the ninth sitting of the 97th session. Nine Senators – five PPPP, two MQM and one each from ANP and BNPA – expressed their views on the address.
ISLAMABAD, August 28, 2013: The Senate continued to debate the presidential address to the parliament’s joint session on June 10, 2013 during the eighth sitting of the 97th session on Wednesday. Six Senators – three belonging to PPPP, two PML-N and one ANP - shared their views on the presidential address. Each senator spoke for approximately 10 minutes as stipulated by the Chair.
ISLAMABAD, August 28, 2013: A constitutional amendment bill seeking 20-year extension for provincial quota in the federal government services was introduced in the National Assembly on Wednesday during the 11th sitting of the fourth session.
ISLAMABAD, August 27, 2013: The National Assembly did not take up any of the 24 agenda items for the tenth sitting of the fourth session on Tuesday. These agenda items comprised two Calling Attention Notices (CANs), four bills, amendments in the rules of procedure and conduct of business, five resolutions, five motions under Rule 259 and also a motion of thanks on the president’s address to the parliament on June 10, 2013.
ISLAMABAD, August 27, 2013: The Balochistan Assembly passed the Local Government (Amendment) Bill 2013 during the fifth sitting of the fifth session on Tuesday.
