ISLAMABAD, February 22, 2011: The National Assembly met for three hours during the 2nd sitting of the ongoing 29th session. Low attendance of Members was observed, with only 68 Members present at the outset and 55 were present when the sitting was adjourned.
As many as 38% government boys high schools do not have a library, 40% lack playgrounds and 42% do not have security guards, according to FAFEN’s monitoring of state-run boys high schools across the country during January, 2011. The government needs to resolve infrastructural issues and ensure the availability of key facilities in order to improve standards of secondary education in the country, says FAFEN’s Education Institution Monitor released here Monday.

ISLAMABAD, February 2, 2011: The National Assembly met for three hours and 10 minutes with low Members’ attendance during the eighth sitting of the ongoing 28th session. A total of 61 Members were present at the outset, while only 24 were present when the sitting was adjourned. The Quorum was visibly lacking at various stages of the sitting, but it was not pointed out by any of the Members. A maximum of 161 Members’ attendance was recorded at one point during the sitting.
