ISLAMABAD, September 10, 2012: The National Assembly, which met for three hours during the sixth sitting of the 44th session, did not discuss the motion on law and order in the country. The government ally – ANP – continued its boycott of the proceedings over the issuance of local government ordinance in Sindh.

ISLAMABAD, September 7, 2012: Starting an hour and three minutes late, the fifth sitting of the 45th session on Friday witnessed a walkout by the legislators of a government ally over issuance of the local government ordinance for Sindh. ANP announced that it would boycott the remaining session.

ISLAMABAD, September 6, 2012: Starting 66 minutes late, the National Assembly met for two hours and 39 minutes on Thursday adopted a Resolutions paying tribute to the army to mark the Defence Day. The sitting was also witness by low attendance as only 104 Members were present at the outset and 66 were there when the sitting was adjourned.

ISLAMABAD, September 5, 2012: The National Assembly met for two hours and 38 minutes during the third sitting of the ongoing 45th session on Wednesday witnessing low attendance of Members as only 78 were present at the outset and 112 were there at the adjournment.

ISLAMABAD, September 4, 2012: Starting an hour and 42 minutes behind schedule, the National Assembly met for two hours and 11 minutes during the second sitting of the ongoing 45th session, leaving most of the agenda unaddressed. As an ambitious agenda was set up for the Private Members’ Day sitting, the National Assembly left 91% of the agenda unaddressed.

The sitting was marked by low attendance with 105 legislators present at the start and 48 were there when the sitting was adjourne

ISLAMABAD, June 22, 2012: The 13th National Assembly elected the 25th Prime Minister of Pakistan on Friday during the 43rd session. Earlier, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani was disqualified by the Supreme Court on June 19, 2012. Raja Pervaz Ashraf, the PPPP candidate and federal minister for Information Technology and former minister for Water and Power was elected as the premier of Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD June 15, 2012: The Prime Minister’s contempt case and other political issues hampered the proceedings of the National Assembly’s budget session, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its preliminary report on 42nd session on Friday.
