NA suspends regular agenda to debate on assassination of Federal Minister

ISLAMABAD, March 3, 2011: The ninth sitting of the ongoing 29th session of the National Assembly met for four hours and four minutes. The sitting, like many previous sittings of the current session was marked by low attendance of Members. A total of 84 Members were present at the outset of the sitting, while only 19 were present when the sitting was adjourned.

NA Suspends Regular Agenda Due to Assassination of Federal Minister for Minorities

ISLAMABAD, March 2, 2011: The National Assembly suspended the regular agenda due to the tragic death of the Federal Minister for Minorities in a terrorist attack. The House only met for 11 minutes, with relatively better attendance of Members. There were 143 present on the outset of the sitting, while 148 were present when the sitting was adjourned.

7th Sitting More than two-third of time consumed by Points of Order

ISLAMABAD, March 01, 2011: The National Assembly met for three hours and five minutes in the 7th sitting of the ongoing Session. The sitting witnessed low attendance of Members with only 11% of the legislators present at the outset of the sitting and 10% were present when the sitting was adjourned. A maximum of 38% MNAs were observed to be present at one point during the sitting.

Points of Order consume more than half of time of 6th sitting of NA

ISLAMABAD, February 28, 2011: The National Assembly met for three hours and five minutes during the 6th sitting of the ongoing 29th session. The sitting was marked by low Members’ attendance, with only 70 Members present at the outset and 65 were present when the sitting was adjourned.

29th NA Session Low Attendance 5th Sitting Meets for 109 Minutes

ISLAMABAD, February 25, 2011: The National Assembly met for an hour and 49 minutes during the fifth sitting of the ongoing 29th session. The sitting which started 53 minutes late witnessed low attendance of Members, with only 60 Members present at the beginning and 87 present when the sitting was adjourned. A maximum of 112 Members was recorded at one point of sitting.

Fourth Sitting of 29th Session Marked by Low MNA Attendance

ISLAMABAD, February 24, 2011: The National Assembly met for two hours and 50 minutes during the 4th sitting of the ongoing 29th session. The sitting was marked by low Members’ attendance, with only 52 Members present at the outset and 48 present when the sitting was adjourned.

ISLAMABAD, February 23, 2011: The National Assembly met for three hours and 38 minutes during the third sitting of the ongoing 29th session. The sitting witnessed low attendance of Members, with only 21 Members present at the outset and 38 were present when the sitting was adjourned.
