KP Assembly Discusses Political Appointments in Province

ISLAMABAD, March 6, 2014: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly during 10th sitting of its 10th session discussed political appointments in the province before being prorogued on Thursday, says Free and Fair Election Network in its Daily Factsheet.

Seventeen lawmakers participated in the debate that continued for an hour and 57 minutes. Six members belonging to JUI-F, and followed by PML-N (4), PTI (3), QWP (2) and one legislator each of ANP and JI took part in the discussion.

Tabled by JUI-F lawmaker, the House adopted a resolution to constitute project committees in each constituency to monitor the use of development funds and pace of projects.

The House took up two calling attention notices (CANs). The first CAN was about disciplinary action to be taken against those government officials who have sublet the female hostel in Hangu to Frontier Highway Authority at the rate of Rs. 15,000 per month while the other CAN was about releasing the amount of tobacco cess to the districts where it is being produced.
