KP Assembly: Right to Public Services Ordinance laid

ISLAMABAD, January 8, 2014: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Public Service Ordinance, 2013 was introduced by the Finance Minister as low attendance was observed during the third sitting of the KP assembly’s ninth session.

The House witnessed low attendance as fifty members were present at the beginning while 62 were there at the adjournment. A maximum of 66 members were observed to be present at a point during sitting.

Additionally, two reports; the Annual report on the Ombudsman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2012 and second Biannual Monitoring Report on the Implementation of NFC Award, January-June 2012 were laid by the Finance Minister.

Only one out of 12 Starred Questions appearing on the Orders of the Day was taken up by the House and subsequently responded. Additionally two supplementary questions were asked of the relevant ministries.

The House took up a calling attention notice, tabled by a JI member, regarding the misbehavior of a Khyber Medical College teacher with a student on wearing veil.
