NA passes bill on human rights commission

ISLAMABAD, May 4, 2012: The seventh sitting of the National Assembly’s 41st session on Friday, which lasted only 44 minutes, unanimously passed the National Commission for Human Rights Bill 2012.

PMLN legislators again walked out of the House over the Supreme Court decision in the contempt case against the Prime Minister. They did not return to the House.

The Annual Report of the Council of Common Interests for the year 2010-2011 was presented in the House.

The Prime Minister and the Leader of Opposition did not attend the proceedings.

A total of 115 Legislators present at the start and 161 when the sitting was adjourned. A maximum of 185 Members were observed at any time of the sitting.
