National Assembly: Sitting Marked by Low Attendance

ISLAMABAD, October 16, 2012: Starting 50 minutes late, the fifth sitting of the ongoing 47th session witness low attendance of Members as only 50 were present at the outset while 65 were there at the adjournment.

Additionally, the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition, the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker and all the parliamentary leaders did not attend the sitting.

The House did not take up two calling attention notices and a motion under rule 259 regarding law and order in the country.

Eleven out of 20 questions appearing on the agenda were taken up and responded to by the relevant ministries. Additionally, 18 Supplementary Questions were also asked.

Five Points of Order consumed 15 minutes of the sitting time.
