ISLAMABAD, February 3, 2020: The National Assembly suspended its regular agenda on Monday and started debate on Kashmir issue in connection with upcoming Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5, observes Free and Fair Election Network in its Daily Factsheet.
Following are key observations of the House proceedings during third sitting of the 19th session:
Members’ Participation
- The National Assembly met for three hours and 25 minutes; however, the proceedings remained suspended for 34 minutes due to prayer break.
- The sitting started at 1651 hours against the scheduled time of 1600 hours.
- The Speaker chaired the sitting for 57 minutes while the Deputy Speaker presided over the remaining proceedings.
- The Leaders of the House (Prime Minister) and the Opposition did not attend the sitting.
- As many as 51 (15%) members were present at the outset and 28 (8%) at the adjournment of the sitting.
- The parliamentary leaders of BAP, PML-N, MQM, ANP and JWP attended the sitting.
- Six out of 10 minority lawmakers were present.
Output
- Tabled by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, the House passed a motion to suspend the regular agenda for February 3 and February 4, 2020.

- Ten lawmakers participated in debate on Kashmir issue and spoke for two hours and 21 minutes.
Order and Institutionalization
- The House was adjourned to meet again on February 4, 2020 (Tuesday) at 1100 hours.
