Punjab Assembly Adopts Three Resolutions

ISLAMABAD, February 24, 2015: Starting 53 minutes behind schedule, the ninth sitting of the Punjab Assembly’s 12th session adopted three resolutions amid low attendance of lawmakers, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN).

Sixteen legislators (4%) were present at the start of the sitting while 60 (16%) at the time of adjournment. The Leader of the House and the Opposition Leader did not attend the sitting.

The House adopted three resolutions regarding taking action against those private educational institutions increasing fee in the garb of security measures, declaring blood test compulsory for pregnant women for six months and appointing female labour inspectors in Industrial zones to protect rights of women workers.
