Punjab Assembly Session Prorogued; Two Resolutions Adopted

ISLAMABAD, May 28, 2014: The Punjab Assembly adopted two resolutions relating to Youm-e-Takbir and declaring the birthday of Baba Guru Nanak as a public holiday during 9th sitting of the 8th session on Wednesday, says Free and Fair Election Network in its Daily Factsheet.

The Chair, however, did not allow the Leader of the Opposition to move a resolution against the statement of the newly-elected Prime Minister of India, which led to the entire opposition protest for 13 minutes.

The adopted resolutions were presented by Minister for Zakat and Ushr and a minority lawmaker respectively.
