Senate Adopts Resolution to Condemn Peshawar Massacre

ISLAMABAD, December 19, 2014: Starting 39 minutes behind schedule, the first sitting of the Senate’s 109th session lasted 13 minutes during which the House unanimously adopted a resolution to condemn the terrorist attack at a school in Peshawar on Tuesday, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its daily factsheet.

A PPPP senator tabled the resolution which termed the incident as a national tragedy and demanded stern action from the government against militant organizations. The House also offered prayers for the departed souls.

The sitting witnessed low attendance with 21 members (20%) present at the outset and 42 (40%) at the adjournment.
