Senate Budget Debate Marred By Rumpus

ISLAMABAD, June 12, 2014: The tussle between treasury and the Chair marred the debate on Finance Bill during seventh sitting of the Senate’s 105th session on Thursday, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its Daily Factsheet based on direct observation of the House.

Following the points of order, a PPPP lawmaker moved a privilege motion stating that the Islamabad Police misbehaved with him and lifted the car parked in front of his lodge. The Chair referred the motion to the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges. The Leader of the House objected to the referral without his consent and threatened not to cooperate with the Chair in running the House smoothly.
