Senate Continues Debate on Peshawar Tragedy

ISLAMABAD, December 23, 2014: Starting an hour behind schedule, the third sitting of the Senate’s 109th session on Tuesday witnessed a continuation of the debate on the terrorist attack in Peshawar, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its daily factsheet.

Seven lawmakers – two belonging to PPPP, one each from ANP, PML, PkMAP, MQM and an independent senator – participated in the debate for two hours and 33 minutes (88% of the proceedings’ time).

Minister for SAFRON laid the Annual Report of the Central Board of Directors of the State Bank of Pakistan for the year 2013-2014 along with the statistical supplement.

The sitting witnessed low attendance with 19 members (18%) present at the outset and 18 (17%) at the adjournment.
