Senate: PM Winds Up Debate on Attack at APS Peshawar

ISLAMABAD, December 31, 2014: Starting 30 minutes behind the schedule, the eighth sitting of the Senate’s 109th session on Wednesday witnessed conclusion of debate on terrorist attack in Peshawar, says Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its daily factsheet.

The Prime Minister concluded discussion during his 22-minute speech while three senators expressed their views for 47 minutes.

State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs introduced the Anti-Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill, 2014 which was referred to the relevant committee for further deliberations.

Ten members (10%) were present at the start and 29 (28%) at the end of the sitting that was presided over by the Chairman. The Leader of the House, the Opposition Leader and the parliamentary leaders of PPPP, PkMAP, PML-N and NP attended the sitting.
