Sitting Marked by Low Attendance

ISLAMABAD, December 30, 2011: The National Assembly met for an hour and 52 minutes during the eight sitting of the ongoing session. Low Attendance of Members was observed as only 32 Legislators were present at the start and 74 when the sitting was adjourned.

Sixteen Points of Order consumed 60% of the total time. However, none of the Points of Order attracted the Chair’s formal ruling.

The Carriage by Air Bill, 2011 was unanimously passed by the House.

The Prime Minister did not attend the proceedings, while the Leader of the Opposition was present for 45 minutes. Only the parliamentary leader of MMAP was present.
