ISLAMABAD, June 24, 2011: As many as 41% of the Members of the National Assembly (139 out of 341) actively took part in the discussions and on-floor debate on the Federal Budget for the fiscal year 2011-12 during the 31st Session of the National Assembly, held between June 3 and 23, 2011.
ISLAMABAD, June 23, 2011: In the last sitting of the 31st session, the National Assembly met for a total of five hours and three minutes with low attendance of Members. There were only 18% Members present at the outset of the sitting and 12% were present when the sitting was adjourned. The maximum attendance of Members at one point of the sitting was recorded at 48%.
ISLAMABAD, June 22, 2011: The 16th sitting of the ongoing budget session witnessed relatively high attendance of Members with a maximum 56 present attendance. The long stretched sitting voted on the Finance Bill, 2011, which was eventually passed by the House with a majority vote.
ISLAMABAD, June 21, 2011: The National Assembly met for five hours and 42 minutes during the 15th sitting of the ongoing budget session. The sitting witnessed low attendance of Members, with only 14% Members present at the outset of the sitting and 32% present when the sitting was adjourned. The maximum attendance of Members at one point of the sitting was recorded at 56%.
ISLAMABAD, June 20, 2011: The National Assembly met for five hours and 24 minutes during the 14th sitting of the ongoing budget session. The sitting was marked by low attendance of Members, with only 14% Members present at the outset of the sitting and 35% present when the sitting was adjourned. The maximum attendance of Members at one point of the sitting was recorded at 55%.
ISLAMABAD, June 18, 2011: The National Assembly met for five hours and 46 minutes during the 13th sitting of the ongoing budget session. The long stretched sitting witnessed low attendance of Members, with only 12% Members present at the outset of the sitting and 8% present when the sitting was adjourned. The maximum attendance of Members at one point of the sitting was recorded at 47%.
ISLAMABAD, June 17, 2011: The National Assembly met for four hours and 50 minutes during the 12th sitting of the ongoing budget session. The sitting witnessed low attendance of Members, with a total of 94 Members present at the outset of the sitting, while 80 were present when the sitting was adjourned.
