35th Session of NA Low Attendance Persists in Fifth Sitting too

ISLAMABAD October 7, 2011: The National Assembly met for an hour and 45 minutes during the fifth sitting of the ongoing 35th session. The sitting was marked by low attendance of Members, with only 52 present at the outset and 64 present at the adjournment of the sitting.

4th Sitting Marked by PMLN Boycott, Low Attendance

ISLAMABAD, October 6, 2011: The National Assembly met for two hours and 45 minutes during the 4th sitting of the ongoing 35th session. Like previous sittings of the session, the quorum was lacking at various stages of the sitting. However, it was not raised by any of the Members. A total of 38 Legislators were observed to be present at the outset of the sitting, while 50 Members were present when it was adjourned.

ISLAMABAD, August 15, 2011: The 33rd session of the National Assembly spent half the time on discussing the law and order, especially in Karachi and Quetta, but only 14% Members took part in it. A total of 47 Members – 44 male Members and three female Members – took part in the debate on law and order.

ISLAMABAD, August 12, 2011: The National Assembly met for an hour and 35 minutes during the last sitting of the 33rd session. The sitting which started 35 minutes late witnessed low attendance of Members, with only 45 Members present at the beginning and 104 present when the sitting was adjourned.

9th Sitting NA continues debate on Violence in Karachi,Quetta

ISLAMABAD, August 11, 2011: The National Assembly met for an hour and 50 minutes during the ninth sitting of the 33rd session. A total of 109 Members (32% of total Membership) were present at the outset, while 94 (28%) were present when the sitting was adjourned. The Quorum was visibly lacking at various stages of the sitting, but it was not pointed out by any of the Members.

NA spends 63% of 8th sitting time on debate on law and order

ISLAMABAD, August 10, 2011: The National Assembly met for two hours and nine minutes with low Members’ attendance in the eighth sitting of the ongoing 33rd session. A total of 92 Members were present at the outset, while 84 were present when the sitting was adjourned. The Quorum was visibly lacking at various stages of the sitting, but it was not pointed out by any of the Members.
