NA Continues Debate on Law and Order

ISLAMABAD, August 9, 2011: The National Assembly continued debate on Motion Under Rule 259 moved by a PMLN legislator on “the law and order situation in the country, particularly in Karachi and Quetta”, during the 7th sitting of ongoing 33rd session. A total of eleven members spoke on the motion for 101 minutes.

National Assembly meets for just eight minutes in 6th sitting

ISLAMABAD, August 8, 2011: The National Assembly met for only eight minutes during the 6th sitting of the ongoing 33rd session. The sitting was marked by low Members’ attendance, with only 33 Members present at the outset and 35 present when the sitting was adjourned.

Low-Attendance 5th Sitting Continues debate on Violence in Karachi, Quetta

ISLAMABAD August 5, 2011: The National Assembly met for an hour and 40 minutes during the fifth sitting of the ongoing 33rd session. The sitting which started 25 minutes late witnessed low attendance of Members, with only 28 Members present at the beginning and 85 present when the sitting was adjourned. A maximum of 118 Members was observed to be present at one point of the sitting.

ISLAMABAD, August 3, 2011: The National Assembly met for three hours and 15 minutes during the third sitting of the ongoing 33rd session. The sitting witnessed low attendance of Members, with 96 Members present at the outset and 92 were present when the sitting was adjourned.

ISLAMABAD, August 02, 2011: The National Assembly met for two hours and 34 minutes in the second sitting of the ongoing 33rd Session. The sitting witnessed low attendance of Members with only 17% of the legislators present at the outset of the sitting and 23% were present when the sitting was adjourned. A maximum of 49% MNAs were observed to be present at one point of the sitting.
