ISLAMABAD, April 13, 2011: Ten cases of probable poliomyelitis were reported in Health Offices in Sindh in January 2011 (five each in Umerkot and Jacobabad), according to FAFEN’s monthly Health Scan, a report analyzing the data of a selection of diseases gathered by FAFEN Monitors from Health Offices across Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD, April 8, 2011: More than 90% of secondary care hospitals at Tehsil and Taluka level, monitored by FAFEN during February 2011 nationwide, do not have specialized healthcare services to cater to the needs of the patients with skin and ENT diseases.
ISLAMABAD, 4th April, 2011: One in every 10 sanctioned teaching posts in monitored government girls’ high schools is lying vacant nationwide, where one teacher has to teach, on an average, 33 girls. Among the monitored schools, 55% did not have a library and 43% had no playgrounds. The government needs to ensure the availability of staff and facilities for the education of female students in the country, says FAFEN Education Monitor released here Monday.
